I’ve been a DOCTOR WHO fan all my life, and part of that adoration is for the Target Novelisations. With iconic covers first drawn by illustrator Chris Achilléos, then designed more recently by Anthony Dry, their bold, frenetic, sometimes haunting style realises the vision of the story better than the original broadcast - without the restraints of budgets or schedules.

For a bit of fun, I challenged myself to put together a cover to the as-of-yet un-novelised story THE EMPTY CHILD - imagining that I’d been assigned to produce as professional a cover as possible, trying to make it feel truly authentic. This was a challenging, but very rewarding, project.
